Homes on water or with a view of water are some of the most desirable in the Charleston real estate market and you have a wide variety to choose from. There are homes with views of the Atlantic Ocean, Charleston Harbor, The Intracoastal Waterway and the Ashley and Wando Rivers. You have many available choices of homes on the beach, marsh, rivers, streams, tidal creeks, lakes, lagoons and ponds.
That's the good news. Now to the bad. Homes on or near the water cost more money and in the Charleston real estate market, that might be a lot of money. But the views just may be worth every penny you spend.
I lived on the marsh at one time and personally, I will tell you that it is so restful and beautiful to watch the tide coming in and out and to observe how the marsh changes color with each season.
